It has been a privilege to spend a week assisting at Robert Alleyne’s C.I.A. (Canine Instructor Academy) course alongside a wonderful group of friends and like-minded trainers and behaviourists and great to meet the lovely group of students attending the course. It has been a packed week full of lectures and talks from interesting and knowledgeable speakers and of course, practical training.

The C.I.A. course takes place at the filming location of the TV series ‘Dog Borstal’ in which Rob starred. A beautiful backdrop for a fabulous course.

I knew that Rob’s instructor’s course was going to be good but I can honestly say it exceeded all of my expectations and was absolutely amazing in every aspect. 

I came away having learnt so much from the week, we covered so many topics. Rob explains everything in such a simplistic and easy way to understand, he is an amazing teacher. 

We were lucky enough to also learn from different speakers and Rob’s lovely trainers.

An amazing week learning with Rob, his instructors, speakers and fellow attendees. My head is crammed full of information and ideas. Rob is quite a raconteur, entertaining us with so many stories. We had numerous stimulating interactive lectures from the psychology of dogs and people to how to set up your business. Rob and his team were so supportive and encouraging, I now feel ready to be ‘bold’ and go for it. Being residential in a beautiful location was fantastic. I so loved going for late evening walks. Since returning from the course, I keep noticing badly behaved dogs bounding all over the place. Would highly recommend.

I have just spent an amazing week at the Canine Instructor Academy in Suffolk. Robert Alleyne has always been one of my favourite dog trainers and having the chance to attend one of his courses was something that I’d always wanted to do. I have come away crammed full of ideas, techniques and a far greater understanding of dog behaviours and solutions. The week was well structured with expert speakers on specialist subjects ranging from human psychology to setting up a dog training business to the current dog laws. All of the speakers were very knowledgeable and more than happy to answer questions. Every afternoon there was a dog training class. The real gem of the week was Robert himself. You’d be hard pressed to find a nicer, more approachable human being! When he sat down with us and talked about subjects like nutrition, separation anxiety, fear aggression etc, it was pure gold. Thank you Robert! You and your staff were fantastic and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend one of his courses to anyone interested in dog training.

What a fantastic week I have had. I had the honour of attending Robert Alleyne’s first behavioural training course. Everyone on the course was lovely, and it was so nice to be around like-minded people. All from different backgrounds and specialising in different areas. We also had great support from Rob’s instructors, and were all helpful, friendly and a great sense of humour. I had not laughed so much in my life. I have definitely made lifelong friends. I cannot recommend this course enough. I strongly advise anyone working with dogs to attend, whether a trainer, walker or behaviourist etc. You will learn, I did, with almost eighteen years of experience. I'm so happy I got the chance to attend your C.I.A 1 week course. I want to do it again and again! Throughout the week I felt a wide range of emotions and often dipped into self doubt. BUT by Friday afternoon all I thought to myself was I CAN DO THIS.

Your course provided everything and more. I loved how you thought of everything. Your guest speakers where so fluent and full of knowledge. Everything was broken down to the most simplistic terms.

Adding to this I met the most amazing people and feel I have such a good network of support.

From a child I've dreamed of being a dog trainer but never felt like it was accessible and then you come along. I've idolised you from Dog Borstal days. I really hope you know how much your being in the dog scene impacted me for the better. Limited people of colour are involved in this role and representation really does matter!
